At least its not swine flu…
Michael was perfectly healthy and busy all day yesterday. This morning he was lethargic, fussy, and generally out of it. Around 2 pm, realized he had a fever. Took his temperature, 103. Quickly gave him Children’s Motrin and called the doctor. He had no other symptoms. Nose is clear. No aches or pains anywhere. No coughing. Nothing. By the time we got to the doctor, fever is gone.
Michael is tested for type A & B influenza. Nothing. Sent home and told to watch for him pulling his ears or something and to call doctor if it happens. 2 hours later, fever jumps from 101.7 to 102.3 in about 5 min. time. Still no other symptoms.
WTF?
Oh and just for added gits and shiggles, the school district psych called in between fever and doctor’s visit to let me know what we’d already suspected for the last two years we’ve been working with the district. Michael has an autism spectrum disorder - either very high functioning autism or asperger’s syndrome.
Yay.
Do I have a “kick me” sign on the top of my head or something?
